After an impressive win at The Celtic
Manor Resort in Wales, Ryder Cup
Captain Colin Montgomerie made a
stop at his namesake course—The
Montgomerie in Dubai—to share the
excitement of the team’s victory and
review the design changes recently
completed at the course.
Major improvements have been made
to the back nine holes with reconstructed
greens that now have TifEagle grass
and are consistent with the front nine
holes that were redone two years ago.
The designs of the greens remain
unchanged, with the exception of
changes to No. 13. At the request of
Montgomerie himself, the entire 13th
hole was redesigned to change the
green complex to create better
playability. By rebuilding the green,
the hole now has much better visual
definition from the tee boxes and has
been well received by players.

help reveal design plans for “the village,” a multi-million dollar resort

swimming pool and gymnasium for residents.
norman was pleased with the progress of the newly laid tees, greens
and fairways that will form part of the front nine, scheduled to open
this spring. the course will weave through the residential community
taking advantage of natural elevations to create great views of the
coastline. the sand dunes environment and native vegetation are
incorporated throughout the course, creating a traditional design
reminiscent of popular scottish links golf courses.
